Two more articles by Nate Silver about polling

Again, I can’t reblog these two articles so I’ll just mention them for your enjoyment. Both have particular relevance to my locale. The first (“Does Omaha Matter“) is Nate’s musings about whether Obama would carry Nebraska’s Second District which is free to vote separately in the Electoral College. Nate predicted (correctly as it turns out) that unlike 2008 Obama would not get this one vote (he also goes into some interesting scenarios where that single vote could actually matter). In this first article he mentions the nefarious gerrymandering Nebraska Repugs did, after 2008, to make sure this state would stay solidly red. The silly redistricting, discussed in this article, shows how crudely unfair redistricting by one party only really is.
