Well we’ve heard from Nate now so there is no need to watch the game. However this time he seems to being making his pick on gut rather than data, the idea that defense wins championships and the 49ers have the better defense. Oh joy, Super Bowls are already fairly boring games but a defensive struggle, at the pro level, even makes Big10 slugfests look interesting.
But Nate hasn’t done as well with football as baseball. A month ago he predicted that the Super Bowl would be Patriots against Seahawks so he is 0 for 2 on his picks. Now if the niners were the old Bill Walsh and Joe Montana it would be worth watching them clobber Baltimore with offense (just as Broadway Joe did with another clumsy Baltimore team in the best Super Bowl of them all).
I’ll predict niners too, but that’s just because I’ve still got some fondness left over from the old days.
