Can’t resist: Texas, guns, and voting

I just couldn’t pass up making a snide comment which I’m entitled since I actually was born in Texas and I have the birth certificate to prove it (of course the birthers would claim it’s a forgery and I was really born in Antarctica!) and oil in my veins from hanging around with roughnecks and I actually know T.Boone (and his dad).

Texas is trying to stop 600,000 people from voting, mostly minorities. Now this can’t be about Obama since Texas is solid red for national elections anyway, so it’s got to be about local politics, how to keep those you-know-who’s in the back of the bus (as there were when I was growing up in Texas with the other group of “others” not even allowed on the bus at all).

But I’ve got the solution. Texas allows gun licenses as voter ID which is itself fabulously absurd. So, all the 600,000 of you who Texas is trying to stop from voting – go get a gun. That will shake them up a lot more than your votes, the idea that 600,000 people who they think are powerless might decide the SCOTUS invented the individual gun right for you as well.
