A really amazing virtual athletic event

To keep myself motivated I’m translate my indoor stationary exercise to a virtual “hike” along the Pacific Coast Trail. This bit of silliness makes the boring exercise easier to do.

But here’s an amazing story of a way more fantastic virtual athletic event. According to this story Astronaut Sunita Williams just completed a “triathlon” while in space on the International Space Station. She actually timed her simulated event to correspond to the real Nautica Malibu Triathlon. I know they have stationary bike and treadmill on the space station, but I don’t see how she simulated the swimming part.

Anyway, congrats to you, Sunita!
