Too cheap to buy fireworks

Even though it’s bad form to make fun about death I couldn’t help but amazed by some people’s stupidity as in this article. Apparently silly traditions of firing guns at weddings aren’t modulated by any wisdom about where power lines might be and the effect of bullets on said power lines. So a bunch of people died at a wedding (where I wondered when I spotted the headline: the middle east, of course) because they apparently haven’t figured out that fireworks make even more interesting bangs and lightshows than AK-47s.

Of course it’s absurd to poke fun at some primitive tradition in some backwater in the world when right here we still have our head decisively buried in the sand about climate change and now have sand washed up all over the east coast. We’ll (the we being taxpayers) will spend billions cleaning up the mess so the Koch’s can make a few more billions on their bottomline which they’ll spend to convince fools in the public that nothing is changing with the weather. The stupidity in Saudi only killed 23; our stupidity will kill billions.

Vote the Rethugs out everywhere next Tuesday if you’d like to see your children survive.
