2013 Football Prediction

You heard it here first. Ohio State will win its division and then beat Nebraska in the Big10 championship. But since OSU still only will have running QB, i.e. no balance in offense, they’ll lose the Rose Bowl to either Stanford or Oregon (whichever of those doesn’t go to National Championship and beat (no, not Alabama, probably the Aggies).

Pretty bold, eh? And 364 days in advance. It’s predictions that show expertise so check back in a year to see either gloating or egg-on-the-face.

Well I was partly right. OSU did make it to B1G championship but then lost to MSU who then, instead of OSU, went to Rose Bowl and beat Stanford. But of course Stanford now plays like a B1G team with brute force offense (which does handle a fair number of Pac12 opponents), but then against an actual B1G team it fails. Stanford, stick to west coast style of play unless you want to get beat regularly by B1G mediocre teams. Of course, maybe Oregon won’t fall for your ponderous game the next time and beat you in a shootdown (oh well, that’s already happened). No Rose Bowl this year while OSU has good chance of winning B1G championship they’re still not going to make final 4 as B1G is so weak, despite huge fan base and thus lots of ad revenue for NCAA.
