Almost on vacation

Finally got most of the prerequisite chores done so we can leave. Now it’s final preparations. Even though laptop is going on the trip and I’ll have connections most places don’t expect any reports.

We’re heading to three of the reddest states in the U.S. so I hope the people there haven’t read any of my posts or the Repugs will get out their pitchforks and some backwater redneck sheriff will find a reason to throw me in jail. So getting ready for pretending to be greedy and nasty conservative. Fortunately I can pass for a local, maybe even get my birth accent (I was born in south) going again.

So see you again in a couple of weeks, hopefully.

Thanks. Back now. Had some highs and lows on the trip. Certainly hitting “The District” in Nashville was fun, especially as the day we were there happened to coincide with an Elton John concert and it was hopping. Got some great seafood outside Mobile, Alabama after seeing all the fishing boats at Bayou La Batre. Natchez Trace was nice but we were a bit too early in the season for all the flowers, plus that route would be a lot more fun to bicycle (or motorcycle) than drive in car. Natchez Pilgrimage, interesting, but not that great. Missed New Orleans for various reasons. Got lots of dashpoints. Gained 22lbs, although half of that is gone now just in four days after back home and on diet.
